DTS for IS-U - The proven and scalable Market Communication Platform with SAP ® for Utilities

Our Data Transfer Solution, DTS is the industry's most powerful integrated solution available to Utility clients across Europe designed to manage data flows between industry participants and the increased data volumes associated with the introduction of Smart meters. It has been specifically created for use in competitive Utility markets and is recognised by the Utilities sector and by SAP with whom we are a valued partner and have achieved NetWeaver accreditation. It underpins the management of data flows between market participants, significantly lowering costs, improving the integrity of your customer data, and ensuring enterprise systems remain compliant.

   
SAP and AMT-SYBEX have formed a strong working relationship over the past five years due to the complementary nature of their products and have worked together on joint proposals to clients who are using both SAP for Utilities and AMT-SYBEX DTS/Integration Services.  As a result of growing client interest and the demand for a localised compliant SAP for Utilities solution. DTS for IS-U is an Industry Interaction & Market Communication module with SAP for Utilities and is deployed in a number of UK utilities. DTS is certified as a 'Powered by NetWeaver ®' product.

This product is now available to Utility companies across Europe.

Using DTS for IS-U provides the benefit of providing a product solution that will be more easily ported to future SAP for Utilities developments and reduces risk and cost of implementation and subsequent maintenance costs in terms of keeping the solution in line with industry changes.

The provision of DTS for IS-U as a product solution will assist a client to manage their costs and risks and will mean that the components will not be thrown away when undertaking upgrades to future versions of SAP IS-U hence reduce total cost of ownership.

A product solution for market communication that is used by multiple parties will provide a reduced total cost of ownership due to the shared maintenance burden of ensuring the solution remains compliant with the industry and future SAP platforms.

Process Monitoring Interface 

Within SAP for Utilities complex switching processes are managed via the Switch Document. In order to provide end to end visibility of a process, the DTS for IS-U solution provides a framework for capturing process specific statuses which can be stored within the operational DTS database and accessed via reporting tools or can be passed back to SAP IS-U.

During implementation, the status updates can then be integrated with the Switch Document either as a status or switch activity. Alternatively process status information can be passed to another repository of process status/audit information (e.g. a database repository or a third party Process Management product).

Exception Management 
 
This component provides an interface between exceptions generated within DTS and SAP Business Process Exception Management (BPEM). Any business exceptions identified during the execution of business rules within DTS can be published to the SAP BPEM environment for resolution.

User Interface

DTS for IS-U takes the key features of the Flow Monitor user interface and provides them as web applications which can be run within the SAP Portal. The functionality provided by these components includes the search and retrieval of flow information by Meter Point, Date Range and Flow Type etc.

Reporting  

In order to analyse and resolve complex exceptions or customer queries, DTS for IS-U provides an off-line data flow query environment. In this environment, all data flows received are broken down into a database structure which allows all data items within the flows to be identified and retrieved via SQL queries.
   
Configuration determines the flows which are sent to this environment as well as the data which is extracted for reporting purposes.
